About Me
I have been teaching art in schools and community centers since 1998. The medium I most identify with in my art practice is clay. I sold my whole ceramics studio in 2016 and didn’t think I would ever consider getting back into pottery. During that time, I explored painting, mixed media, and printmaking. Even though I found success in these other mediums, the call of clay started when I stopped teaching full-time in a school setting.
I have expanded my home studio space to incorporate more clay work. One end of the room is for 3D work, and the other is for 2D work. I am fortunate enough to have ample space to hold small classes, workshops, and camps. I still teach hand-building on Monday mornings at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. It is a fantastic community to be a part of, and many talented artists also share their passion.
I’m excited to see where the next artistic adventure leads me. I love sharing everything art-related that I’ve learned over the past 30 years. Even though I started my art career by getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts, most of my education has been through exploration and experience. That’s how I base my teaching. How do you learn best? Let’s find a way that fits your vision and ability.
